Pentecost

This day commemorates the promised descent of the Holy Ghost upon the disciples, 10 days after the Ascension of Christ into Heaven.

The traditional religious ceremonies of this day are supposed to be drawn on the original sermon by the Apostle Peter, which led to the baptism of 3,000 new followers of Christ. As white robes were common among baptismal candidates, the day has also come to be known as Whitsunday.
